March 24

Hello Friends and Family,

What an impactful month it has been dedicated to serving the Lord and His people both spiritually and physically. In the months of January and February I traveled back to Uganda for our annual Infield Mentoring Farming God’s Way in the heart of Jinja. Led by Klint Ostermann and Grant Dryden. This year we had brothers and sisters from Kenya, South Africa, the DRC, Sudan and the USA. Joining hands to share this agriculture ministry tool in four districts in Jinja.
I had the privilege of joining Klint’s at the Vocare Farm in Mayuge district west of jinja. Monday, January 29th we were off and running after an uplifting time of praise and worship local villagers began to gather intrigued by our activities taking place at the farm. Each day was meticulously structured, with sessions delving into the biblical, managerial, and technical aspects of Farming God’s Way (FGW). Witnessing the spiritual revival and hearing the heartfelt testimonials from the attendees who strengthened our faith in the Lord's work. Over the next ten days we were privileged to share this message to over 25 villagers who were eager to learn what our Lord and savior had to say. Hosea 4:6 “My people perish for the lack of knowledge” not this group. In FGW seminars/trainings it's not uncommon for attendees to leave prematurely especially if they perceive they are not going to receive a hand out. This highlights a prevalent issue of the dependency syndrome a burden that weighs on many within the African continent. Yet, amidst these challenges the teachings of Luke 16:10 resonate profoundly “faithfulness in small matters leads to faithfulness in greater ones”. The steadfast faith and diligent stewardship demonstrated by the villagers of Mayuge during training serve as a beacon of hope for the future. Farmers were unaware of their poor management towards their families, land, relationship to the Lord.
Every evening, all four teams convened for fellowship and worship around the camp fire reflecting on the day's activities sharing what went well in each trainers session and how they can improve on their delivery and effectiveness with their groups. In Africa not everyone has an education something we westerns take for granted. Knowing who you are ministering to is key, I learned that having inelegance dose not cross all cultures equally. I had prepared a session for a college level class all to find out that the highest level of education in our group was p5 or 5th grade. Having a QA at the end of the session allowed for misunderstandings to be discussed and resolved so each attendee felt confident in the material. We witnessed spiritual breakthroughs, and stories of success over ancestral worship through out our week. As our first FGW seminar drew to a close we gathered on our last Friday evening to celebrate the achievements of four trainees. Who received their well deserved accreditation marking the culmination of their three year journey. What a joy it was to be part of this celebration. Each one of the trainers will be taking this free ministry tool of agriculture back to their villages and agencies to expand the word of God through agriculture practices.
Following our infield training, I took a couple of days to reflect on the profound experiences of the past ten days and prepare for our upcoming regional training the following week. Klint Ostermann organizes FGW reginal seminar in Jinja each February, where trainers can work toward accreditation conducting sessions during the training days. My brother Moses accompanied me from his home village of Kaberamaido located in Northern Uganda. Moses and I thank you all for your generous support and donations consisting of 35 boxes of crayons, 240 pencils, 28 Bible picture books, games, cloths. These items support the villages ministry Acts 1:8 that he teaches at multiple times each week. 2024 marked Moses first official Farming God’s Way training. During our second FGW training, I was assigned to teach on the creation of measuring ropes, and teaching on minimal wastage one of our management keys. Anticipating a turnout of 30 farmers. We were pleasantly surprised to welcome 42 from various regions of Uganda North, South, East, and West. Furthermore we had the opportunity to showcase our demonstration garden at the new Hangout location in Jinja providing a environment for individuals to work in an office setting with Wi-Fi, culinary offerings from vendors, and relax next to lush greenery in a shaded gazebo.
As the third week drew to a close we concluded the reginal training with our vegetable series on Saturday. Each participant left with a measuring rope or a baseline as we call them marked at 60cm, along with two measuring sticks one measuring 60cm and the other 75cm. Hearts were filled with joy as attendees embraced the prospect of applying their newfound knowledge upon returning home.
As my time in Jinja drawing to a close, Moses and I journeyed to Entebbe where I visited the new Bible College Institute situated on the island of Nongombe where I lived in 2018. Recognizing the underutilization of the land the Lord put on my heart to speak with church administration on bring FGW to the Bible College. During this time I met with Patrick Kabod one of two bible college professors and Pastor Fred, of Calvary Chapel Entebbe to explore the integration of FGW curriculum into the Bible college. The discussions ignited with enthusiasm echoing the wisdom of Proverbs 3:6: "In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success." I am currently in the process of developing FGW curriculum and will join the teaching staff for the 2025 school semester I humbly request your prayers and financial support for the coming 2025 school year. I will share the expenses in Junes news letter where support is needed. As we embark on this new chapter at the collage pray for the students who are attending that Godly relationships will grow along the way.

Thank you all for your prayers and support.
